MakersLab @UCSF Fresno

The initial launch of the Makers Lab took place in the last quarter of 2022 with a variety of sessions such as rock painting, button-making and a Halloween-themed crafting session featuring 3-D printed ghosts! New workshops took place in Fall 2023 along with favorites from 2022.  As always, faculty/learners/staff may drop-in to craft and create on a break or during lunch. More info on workshops at UCSF Fresno and at UCSF can be found at https://fresnolibrary.ucsf.edu/workshops

Library Renovations Update

Library patrons are enjoying the sound masking system that was installed in the library to mask and minimize noisy distractions throughout the space. This has helped to increase the well-being of our users by generating a soft background soundscape, creating a more relaxing workspace, and effectively adding a measure of privacy.

Directional signage has been added throughout the library along with colorful graphics that highlight our distinct areas such as the Makers Lab, Silent Pod, and Conference/Study Space. In addition, a biographical sketch in the foyer highlights Dr. Alfredo Ponce, a local educator and internationally known artist, who was commissioned by UCSF Fresno to create artwork representing SJV PRIME Medical Students, which have now all been installed in the library. We hope you will stop by to check them out!
